Queen’s Avenue Road Closure 2/4/24-14/4/24.

PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR TRAVEL TO APPOINTMENTS

Notice from Grainger PLC. Dear Resident, ROAD CLOSURES 2nd April – 14th April 2024 PARKING TO BE SUSPENDED ON PENNEFATHER’S ROAD.

We are writing to inform you that from Tuesday 02nd April 2024 – Sunday 14th April 2024 we will be closing off sections of Queen’s Avenue and Alison’s Road carriageway. As you are aware our Contractor; Hope and Clay, are carrying out extensive highway works around the junction of Alison’s Road and Queen’s Avenue to upgrade the existing carriageway and to introduce a shared use footway/cycleway facility. These works are due to be completed by the summer of this year and we’d like to thank all our residents for their continued patience whilst the works take place. During the school Easter holiday period (30th March – 14th April), there will be phased temporary closures on Alison’s Road from Buller Roundabout up to and including Queen’s Avenue which are programmed as follows: 2 nd April – 7 th April series of phased closures at Buller Roundabout and Alison’s Road (East of Alison’s Road-Queen’s Avenue Traffic Signals Junction). 8th April – 14th April series of phased closures at the Queens Avenue and Alisons Road Traffic Signals Junction. Temporary diversion signs will be in place for vehicle traffic to use alternative routes via A323 Wellington Road and A325 Farnborough Road – please see on the reverse an indicative map showing alternative vehicle route.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will still be available via the footpath diversions on either side of Queen’s Avenue. Access for vehicles during their respective phased road closures will be maintained for: ➢ Cambridge School car park via Steeles Road Junction from Queen’s Avenue south. ➢ Prince’s Avenue, St Andrew’s Church, Cathedral Church of St Michael & St George via Queens Avenue north from A325 Queens Roundabout. ➢ St Omer Barracks via Ordnance Road approach utilising the existing U-Turn prior to Buller Roundabout. ➢ Browning Barracks via A325 Farnborough Road. ➢ Garrison Garage 24/7 vehicle access will be always available either via Queens Avenue Traffic Signals Junction during w/c 1 st April or via Buller Roundabout during w/c 8th April.

We have worked with Stagecoach to ensure their services can continue to operate. As previous Queen’s Avenue road closures, the bus stops currently outside Aldershot Centre for Health on Queen’s Avenue will temporarily be moved to Pennefather’s Road during Queens Avenue closures.

We will be suspending all parking along Pennefather’s Road while these works take place to enable easy access for buses and emergency vehicles.

In the case of emergency during the works, please contact Hope & Clay on 07831811910. Please do get in touch with us if you have any questions or concerns on either 01252 351966 or email info@wellesleyhampshire.co.uk

We apologise for the inconvenience that these works will cause and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Best Wishes, The Wellesley Team
