A&E Demand – Help us help you get the right urgent care and support

Help us help you get the right urgent care and support

The Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) at Frimley Park Hospital is currently experiencing an increasing level of demand. We are asking people to only attend if they are experiencing severe symptoms or are suffering from a life-threatening condition.

Help us help you access the right service for your healthcare needs.

Unless it’s an emergency remember there’s lots of alternatives for you to make use of.

    1. Visit your local pharmacy
    2. During the day contact your GP practice via an online consultation or phone
    3. Contact NHS 111 online, www.111.nhs.uk or dial 111. If you are calling NHS 111, please be patient. NHS 111 may advise you to contact your GP or its out-of-hours service or attend the Bracknell Minor Injuries Unit.
    4. For minor injuries, such as sprains and strains, suspected broken limbs, minor head injuries, visit the Minor Injury Unit at Brants Bridge in Bracknell – open 8am-8pm 7 days a week. X-ray available Sunday to Friday

Anyone with a life-threatening condition should call 999.

IAPT therapy for the Deaf Community

IAPT therapy for the Deaf Community

SignHealth has been awarded a national contract to deliver Talking Therapies for Deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL). This NHS contract provides NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) through referrals so that Deaf people anywhere in England can access support. Deaf patients can still choose to access their local IAPT service with a BSL interpreter if they wish to do so.  Our local service is offered through TalkPlus.

Mental health support is now easily accessible via the standard GP referral route or directly with SignHealth at signhealth.org.uk/therapy.

Patient Consent to Share Information with Others

Wherever possible, we ask for written consent when you want us to talk to a family member about your health or about you.  You will now need to download and complete a written consent form found by clicking on this link.  This is to protect your confidentiality.  Whilst verbal consent is not wrong and will be accepted if necessary to provide immediate care, it means we do not have an audit trail to evidence when the consent was given.

NHS 111 Winter Campaign starts 1/11/21

The campaign seeks to increase awareness that NHS 111 online makes it easier for patients to get the treatment they need in the right place.  NHS 111 online can also direct patients to urgent treatment centres, GPs, pharmacies and emergency dental services and, if needed, arrange a call from a healthcare professional.
